The biggest fashion event in East Anglia kicked off earlier last month with the fourth instalment of Norwich Fashion Week.
Held at the OPEN in the heart of Norwich city centre; fashionistas, bloggers and photographers gathered together for a night of independent and high street fashion.
The shows, supported by Birmingham born electronic girl duo, EKKAH, retailed graced the catwalk with exclusive snippets of collections which we can all look forward to seeing this summer.
Boux Avenue, who also very kindly sponsored the goodie bags for the VIP guests, showcased pieces from their swimwear line, making us all long for a summer holiday!
Lisa Angel, an independent boutique in Norwich which has grown considerable over the last few years, showcased unique accessories and definitely made a statement, with one of the models walking out waving an oversized silver grey flag – a signature colour to the Lisa Angel logo.
One independent retailer which definitely stood out among the rest was LAND clothing; who staged a catwalk protest during their collection.
Models strutted down the runway wearing LAND’s signature monochrome collection and holding up signs which read: “My Body My Rights”, “Courage Has No Gender”, “We Will Not Be Divided”, “Tear Down Your Walls” and “We Define The Land” – a nod towards the recent Black Lives Matter movements, the LGBT community and gender equalities.
Overall, the event was incredible.
It had a great variety of collections and retailers accompanied by talented new music and cocktails by Grey Seal Coffee Roasters.
The models, supplied by local modelling agency Sandra Reynolds based in Norwich, were so professional and faultless, you could tell extensive rehearsals had been carried out prior to the show to ensure everything – down to the balloon drop at the event – was timed precisely.
Although, it did make me realise how little fashion and beauty events we actually have in East Anglia.
See you next season Norwich!
