Sainsbury’s TU clothing brand has seen an increase in sales by 4% from last year.
It is thought that the rise follows the supermarket brand’s TU Premium launch back in September last year.
Taking its inspiration from the catwalk, and from brands like Hobbs and Whistles, the TU Premium collection starts from around £18 up to £45 for larger items like handbags and coats – still a pretty good bargain!
With rising costs across the high street, many consumers are after great quality for low prices. One of these bargains are Sainsbury’s TU £14 – £18 skinny jeans as the supermarket retailer sells around 52 pairs of these jeans every hour, according to The Mirror.
Sainsbury’s non-food trading director, James Brown, told Retail Gazette: “Shopping for clothing in supermarkets has become firmly established, and our strategy of offering customers high street style at supermarket prices in an attractive, department store-style setting has helped us to increase our market share.
“Our customers recognise quality and great value and they want to buy clothes with classic styling and upgraded fabrics from us.”
