Finally – it seems like ages ago when Balmain’s head designer, Olivier Rousteing, gave us a sneak peek into the French fashion house’s collaboration with L’Oreal.
The latest ad for the campaign, which was released yesterday August 21, gave us a taste of what we can expect from the soon-to-launch lipstick collection.
It promised girl power and it definitely delivered – showcasing a Balmain army of 12 models of different origins and backgrounds to coincide with the 12 lipsticks, which range from cool nudes, warm reds and oranges to vampy purples and browns.
According to WWD, in a joint statement released by the brands on yesterday, August 21, the casting is meant to reflect “three tribes of L’Oréal Paris and Balmain Paris femininity,” much like the line’s Rock, Couture and Glamazon themes, each housing four shades designed to suit a range of complexions and send “a message of beauty in diversity and female empowerment.”
Set with the Eiffel Tower in the background, the ad oozes Parisian fashion.
The collection is expected to launch in early September.
